Find out more about RU

• When did you start practicing? How did this passion find you?

It started almost by chance, a small moment that sparked curiosity, and that curiosity never really left.
What began as something I did just for myself slowly turned into something I wanted to share with others. Looking back, I think it chose me more than I chose it.

• Which artists or works affect you the most?

I'm drawn to people who make something difficult look effortless. Performers and creators who clearly put in thousands of hours of work but present it with total ease. That contrast between hidden effort and apparent simplicity is something I try to bring into everything I do.

• What are the qualities and skills required to succeed in this area?

Patience, consistency, and a willingness to fail in private so you can succeed in public. Technical skill matters, but so does the ability to read a room, adapt on the spot, and genuinely connect with the people in front of you. Discipline gets you the foundation; people skills get you the rest.

• What is the most valuable advice you can give to help someone stay focused on creative projects?

Break it down. Big goals are overwhelming, but small daily steps are manageable, and they add up faster than people expect. Also: don't wait until you feel "ready." You improve by doing, not by waiting to feel prepared.

• How would you describe your passion; how does it make you feel?

It's the thing that makes time disappear. When I'm fully in it, I stop thinking about anything else, it's one of the few things that gives me that kind of focus and satisfaction at the same time.

• What creative achievements are you particularly proud of?

Being recognized on television and receiving award recognition for my work stand out, but honestly, what I'm proudest of is more personal: building something from nothing, and turning it into a career I actually love.

• Have you ever been surprised by a student; by their ability or quick progression?

Constantly. There's always a moment with a student where something clicks faster than expected, and you can see their confidence shift in real time. Those moments are exactly why I teach.

• Being a Superprof is an art! What is your secret?

Meeting each student where they are, not where I think they should be. Everyone learns differently, so my "method" is really just paying close attention and adjusting constantly that, plus genuinely caring whether they get better.
