About Seth
I'm laid back, happy-go-lucky, and love all things viola!
My students have ranged from adult beginners learning the viola for the first time, to middle and high schoolers with ambitions for competitions and conservatories. I've taught in public school, college, private studios, played in professional orchestras and chamber music groups, performed on stage with rock bands and Broadway stars, and sat in recording studios playing tracks for pop singers.
I hope for us both to work hard and learn something!

Learning an instrument can be fun, very challenging, a little intimidating, and extremely rewarding. It builds self confidence and teaches you about yourself and how you learn, it spreads joy and beauty to others, and it brings people together. In my opinion, no instrument does that better than the viola.
Learning the viola is a unique experience that benefits from the right teacher. Someone who has been around the block, has gone through the struggles of learning, has gone to the top music schools in the country, who has made their living by making music professionally, who has over a decade of experience teaching all ages and levels.
I'm proud to draw upon my background to provide instruction that is down-to-earth, detail-oriented, musically-inspiring, and most importantly, patient and kind. Learning takes diligence, and to find that in yourself you need a guide who believes in you and isn't afraid to walk (or run!) with you every step of the way.
