About Ryan
I am a Brooks sponsored Professional Distance runner & previously an assistant coach and adjunct professor for 20 - 40 students in Physical Fitness for 2 years at American University in Washington, D.C. I taught students how to improve their lives physically, and how it translated into better overall mental health and mental well being as well. Students in my classes lost weight, cut their 1.5 mile running times by an average of over one minute from the beginning of the semester to the end, and set up a lifestyle of exercise and wellness for years to come.
I also was previously a tutor for the Huntington Learning Center, teaching students as young as 4th grade through High School reading, history and math.

I am a hands on type of coach/ instructor. I spend the first 15 minutes of class explaining three things: the goal for that day's lesson, the breakdown for what I am teaching that day, and how this applies to daily life after the class is over. After that, my students do their workout, or class and I am with them for the whole time, explaining what I like, and what they need to improve on. We usually end with a wrap up for what we accomplished, and what we need to improve on going forward.
