About Dennis

I'm Dennis Pasamba, founder and head instructor of a Chicago Latin dance company, and I have been teaching dance professionally since 1992, for more than 30 years. In that time I have taught thousands of students, from absolute beginners taking their very first steps to couples preparing wedding first dances, quinceañera courts, and experienced dancers refining their technique. Dance is my full-time profession, not a side hobby. I run a full-time studio with weekly group classes and social dance events, and I hold a perfect 5.0 star rating across more than 1,000 Google reviews. Students describe my teaching as patient, clear, and encouraging. Whatever your age, your experience level, or your two left feet, my job is to make you feel comfortable and get you dancing sooner than you thought possible.

About the lesson

I have been teaching salsa in Chicago since 1992, and my specialty is taking complete beginners from their first basic step to dancing confidently at a club or social. My method is simple and patient: every movement is broken down into small, easy pieces, practiced to music, and then put together, so you always understand what you are doing and why. No memorizing long routines you forget the next day. You learn real leading and following, timing, and musicality from lesson one. A typical private lesson starts with a short warm-up and review, then focused work on your personal goals, whether that is the basic steps, turns, shines, partner work, or preparing for a wedding or event, and it ends with practice dancing so you leave feeling the progress. Lessons are for total beginners, couples, and dancers with some experience who feel stuck. No partner is needed. I also teach bachata and cumbia, and my studio students have given us over 1,000 five-star reviews on Google.
