About Melanie
I am a professional actress and singer who has worked extensively since graduating from Mountview in 2011. Having worked professionally for over 10 years on stage and screen, I have first hand and current experience in my field. Shows include Les Mis, We Will Rock You, Tommy, The Wild Party, Jesus Christ Superstar and Jersey Boys; I am also an established voice over artist. I have a lot to offer regarding advice on drama school applications, self tapes, acting-through-song, singing technique and auditions. More importantly, I have lived it - am living it - so if you also wish to deepen your understanding of the industry as a whole I am absolutely the person to be able to help with that.

My teaching style is always about getting the best out of every student in a fun, knowledgable and friendly way. I want you to feel safe and confident enough to ask questions as we go, constantly developing your skill set. With over 12 years experience teaching children and adults face to face and online, my students range from those with drama school training in their future, to those currently auditioning and grads looking for help on their next West End and Tour auditions. My online classes are for ages 14+ and last for an hour.

Having worked with Melanie teaching Acting Through Song at degree and diploma level, I can confirm she is a brilliant and vivacious teacher who really cares about her students. Melanie will get the best out of anyone in front of her, she will challenge students to think out of their comfort zones and the results are wonderful to watch. Highly recommend.
Mel is patient, kind and knowledgeable. The online sessions are so helpful as I don't live in London, though we did go down to see her in Jersey Boys last year! It is so great to get advice from a working pro in real time and the way she has helped me with my vocal technique, especially my belt, is amazing. Mel is the best.
Mel really helped me gain confidence when performing, I was so focused on the notes that I wasn't really aware of what my face was doing! Since working on my acting through song with Mel I have laughed (a lot!) learned so much and would recommend her to anyone.
