About Dave
Having written for the President, Congress, and the Pentagon, among many others, I have spent the last 25 years loving what I do, growing from a technical writer into a senior editor, working with other writers and writing teams and even mentoring junior writer-editors. My first job out of college, when I got my English degree, was as a high school English teacher. That love of teaching has served me throughout my career, which brings me to Superprof--to help others in their writing when they need it, whatever the needs are.

I tailor my teaching to the writing needs of adults of all ages, from college students to corporate professionals, all of which I have taught before. After discussing the needs, to include reviewing if possible a sample of the student's draft or intended writing, I'll outline a "writing plan" to be covered in a lesson or two--depending on the writing needs--then refine that plan in discussion with the student so they get the specific help needed. I am an interactive teacher: I don't lecture and they listen; I teach in bits and use lots of Q&A, so they're as involved as they can be.
