About Emily
I am originally from California and am currently working as an Assistant Professor of English in Tennessee.
I received my PhD in Comparative Literature and have worked as a professor in Louisiana, Georgia, and Tennessee. I love teaching but I also have had a lot of experience editing essays, theses, and dissertations.
I have also studied French and Spanish, so I understand how intimidating learning another language can be.

I am interested in helping native and non-native English speakers learn and practice their reading, writing, and speaking skills. I am flexible and willing to adjust my lessons to suit the needs of my students.
As a tutor, I am very patient and believe that making mistakes are an important part of the learning process! No one is perfect!
I can proofread papers, I can help you practice your speaking skills, I can help with reading comprehension, and I can help you prepare for interviews.
Lessons can be for anyone. All age groups and levels welcome.
