About Maria
Hi! I’m Maria, a dedicated Psychology and Sociology student at Toronto Metropolitan University with a passion for understanding the "why" behind human behavior and social systems. My academic journey is built on a foundation of rigorous research and professional ethics, including being TCPS2 certified in ethical research and maintaining a deep focus on behavioral statistics and quantitative methods. Beyond the classroom, I’ve spent my time designing digital mental health tools and developing prototypes based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which allows me to bring a unique, "real-world" perspective to our sessions. I’m not just here to help you memorize facts, I’m here to share the same evidence-based strategies and organizational frameworks I use in the lab to help you navigate your own academic workload with confidence. When you work with me, you’re getting a tutor who is professional, tech-savvy, and genuinely invested in seeing you master psychology and the social sciences with clarity and ease.

believe that learning should feel less like a chore and more like a discovery, so I take a friendly, "bridge-building" approach to every session! By blending my background in psychology and sociology with practical tips for managing your "cognitive bandwidth," I help you break down heavy academic concepts into bite-sized, manageable pieces. A typical lesson with me isn't just a lecture, we start with a quick catch-up on your current stressors, dive into a core topic using real-world examples, and finish with a "teach-back" session to make sure the info actually sticks. What sets me apart is my hands-on experience with digital mental health tools and ethical research, which allows me to show you how these theories actually work in the real world, from statistics to social behavior. Whether you are a high schooler tackling your first social science credits or a fellow university student navigating the maze of research methods, I’m here to help you study smarter, stay organized, and actually enjoy the process!
