About Gerard
I am a Psychology BSc (1st Class) & Occupational Psychology (Distinction) MSc graduate with 5 years experience working in Psychology-based data analysis. I also won the prize for highest Psychology empirical project/dissertation at Newcastle University.
I am looking to tutor people from GCSE up to University level around all areas of Psychology, as well as offering help around Statistics and Empirical projects.
My approach is to understand where specifically you are looking for guidance, as well as helping with both understanding the subject but also understanding the mark scheme. I want to help you to understand Psychology at a core level and get the highest mark based when structuring your answers.

My first lesson is free and aimed around understanding exactly what you are looking to get out of the tutoring.
I then aim to teach in a bottom-up standpoint, starting with basic concepts and going into more critical nuance. I want to separate testing your memory (i.e. learning studies) from your understanding (i.e. concepts or using studies to find strengths and weakness), whilst also giving you theoretical exam questions to show you the marking criteria.
An example lesson may have the following structure:
- Explore your understanding of a topic
- Go over the core concepts
- Look at studies and evidence for core concepts
- Test your understanding of the concepts and the evidence whilst looking at the information
- Practice exam question with the information still present. Evaluating these against an exam criteria.
