About Avril
I am a qualified Early Years Educator and a trainee Primary School Teacher with over four years of experience in early years, primary, and special education settings. I have worked with children from junior infants to sixth class, supporting a wide range of abilities and learning needs. My teaching style is hands-on, visual, and engaging, designed to make learning enjoyable while building confidence. I believe every child learns best when lessons are adapted to their individual strengths, so I create tailored activities that encourage progress at the child’s own pace. I have extensive experience working one-to-one, helping children develop skills in literacy, numeracy, and communication. My goal is to provide a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel motivated and proud of their achievements.

I offer engaging and supportive tutoring for primary school and early years students, including those in special education. My lessons are typically 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the child’s needs and attention span. I have over 4 years’ experience working in the Early Years setting and in the Irish Primary School. I have worked 1:1 with children in both early years and primary school settings.
My teaching style is hands-on and visual, using interactive activities, real-life examples, and visual aids to make learning meaningful and enjoyable. I adapt each lesson to suit the child’s learning style, pace, and goals, ensuring they feel confident and supported

Avril is so good with children. She is so kind, warm, bubbly and patient that children build a rapport with her instantly. A good relationship is the foundation of teaching and learning, which is Avril’s biggest strength. She always has good intention and I would highly recommend.
I couldn’t recommend Avril highly enough. She has a wonderful gift for connecting with children and making learning feel positive and encouraging. Her experience with special education shows in the patience, kindness, and creativity she brings to every lesson. I’ve known Avril for years and have always admired her dedication, integrity, and genuine care for the children she works with.
