About faiza
I am a professional visual artist, art tutor and curator with many years of experience in art, teaching and creative practice. I hold a Master’s degree in Fine Arts and have also completed an MA in Curating in the UK.
My journey with art began with painting and drawing, and over the years it has developed into teaching, curating exhibitions and leading creative workshops. I have worked with children, adults, beginners and people who simply want to explore their creativity without feeling pressured to be “good at art.”
I have taught art in schools and academies and currently lead painting and creative workshops in the UK. My professional experience also includes working with galleries, exhibitions and major arts organisations, including the British Pavilion at the Venice Biennale.
What motivates me to teach is seeing people become more confident through making art. I believe everyone can learn to draw and paint with the right guidance, patience and encouragement. My lessons are friendly, practical and adapted to each student’s level, interests and goals.

My lessons are practical, relaxed and tailored to each student. I believe art is best learned by doing, so I combine clear demonstrations with plenty of time for you to practise, experiment and develop your own style.
At the beginning, I take time to understand your experience, interests and what you would like to achieve. If you are a complete beginner, we can start with the foundations of drawing and painting, including observation, proportion, composition, colour mixing, brush techniques, light and shadow. For students with more experience, lessons can focus on developing technique, exploring different approaches and building a stronger personal style.
A typical lesson begins with a short introduction and demonstration. I then guide you through the process step by step while giving you space to work independently. Rather than simply asking you to copy an image, I explain why we use particular techniques so that you can apply what you learn to your own artwork.
I teach drawing, acrylic painting, still life, portraiture, colour theory, composition and creative mixed-media techniques. I can also help students develop ideas and explore more experimental approaches to art.
Most importantly, my lessons are encouraging and pressure-free. Mistakes are part of learning, and you do not need to be “naturally talented” to start. Whether you want to learn art seriously, improve your existing skills or simply enjoy being creative, I will adapt the lessons to your pace and goals.

I like to keep my lessons flexible and accessible, whether you are trying art for the first time or looking to develop your existing skills.
Each lesson is planned around you, your interests and what you would like to achieve. If you would like to learn regularly, I offer discounted 5-hour and 10-hour packages so you can continue developing your skills at a more affordable rate.
Online lessons are available at a lower rate, and for in-person lessons, a small travel fee may apply depending on the distance.
Your first session is a relaxed opportunity for us to get to know each other, talk about your creative goals and decide what you would most enjoy learning.
You do not need expensive art supplies to get started. I am always happy to suggest simple, affordable materials that suit your level and the kind of art you would like to explore.
