About Holly
I am a passionate primary school teacher who truly loves helping children learn to read. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is seeing children begin to understand how reading works and experiencing those special “light-bulb moments” when everything clicks into place. I believe reading should feel enjoyable and confidence-building, not stressful or overwhelming.
I thoroughly enjoy 1:1 teaching, as it allows me to tailor each lesson to the individual child, move at their pace and focus on their specific strengths and needs. This personalised approach helps children feel supported, understood and proud of their progress. I enjoy building positive relationships with children and creating a calm, encouraging environment where they feel safe to try, practise and succeed.
My passion for teaching comes from seeing children grow in confidence, develop a love of books and realise that they can read. Supporting families on this journey and helping children experience success is what motivates me every day.

This lesson focuses on building the essential foundations for reading through fun, engaging and interactive activities. Children will develop key listening and attention skills, sound awareness and early phonics knowledge that support confident reading. Using games, stories and practical activities, the lesson is designed to feel playful while still being carefully structured and purposeful. Sessions are tailored to each child’s needs and aim to build confidence, enjoyment and a positive attitude towards reading.
