Typical Lesson Length
Standard sessions run 60 minutes for high school and undergraduate students, carefully balancing recall, new content, and application. I offer 90-minute sessions for intensive exam revision or complex topics such as intersectionality or Bourdieu's habitus, and 45-minute mini-sessions for targeted skills like methods-in-context questions or timed past-paper practice. Every lesson includes a clear takeaway—a concept map, essay skeleton, or revision checklist—so you never leave wondering what you have learned.
My Qualifications & Experience
I hold a Bachelor’s's degree in Sociology, specialising in inequality and social theory, alongside a Post Graduate Diploma in Education. I have over six years of private tutoring experience across AQA, OCR, Pearson Edexcel, and multiple undergraduate programmes. Currently, I serve as adjunct faculty at a community college, teaching introductory sociology to diverse cohorts. This dual role means I am actively engaged with current grading rubrics, curriculum changes, and common student misconceptions every week. I have also completed certified training in scaffolding techniques and trauma-informed teaching, which ensures I handle sensitive topics—poverty, racism, family conflict—with care and professionalism.
