About Esther
Hello, I am Esther.
I am a French as a Second Language (FSL) teacher with over 3 years of experience. Originally from Quebec and currently based in Paraguay, this dual perspective allows me to perfectly understand the challenges faced by English and Spanish speakers.
I have completed university coursework in Linguistics at Université Laval and Translation at UQTR. This academic background gives me a deep understanding of language structures. I do not just teach phrases by heart; I explain how the language works (grammar, syntax) so you can use it autonomously.
Specializing in adult coaching (future Quebec residents, professionals, students), I combine a structured approach with great kindness. My goal is to make you autonomous and confident for your future life in Canada.
Whether you want to master Quebec French for your relocation project, improve your business French, or simply gain fluency, I adapt to your specific goals.

My lessons are designed to be both structured and lively, with a focus on Quebec reality.
Depending on your needs, we can work on:
- Quebec French: Understanding common expressions, accent, and cultural specifics essential for living and working in Quebec.
- Language Test Preparation: Specific training for certification exams (TEF, TCF, etc.) required for your administrative processes.
- Structured Conversation: Simulations of real-life situations (bank, doctor, work, housing) to prepare you for your arrival.
- Grammar and Writing: Clear explanations based on my linguistics training to understand the logic of the language.
Every lesson is personalized. I provide adapted materials and written feedback after each session to consolidate your learning.

Esther is extra-ordinarily well prepared for classes, and shares detailed and authortative sources to fascilitate self-study. In addition, her demeanour in the class is very energetic and uplifting which makes the sessions exciting and fun.
I am currently her student for TCF Writing, and she is by far-and-away the best and most detailed teacher I have had. She checks my submissions ahead of time and always provides copius feedback.
Counldn't be happier, and cna't reccomend her enough!Esther is a gem! We aways have interesting conversations that are suitable for my level of French. During our classes, we often discuss the differences between Parisian and Quebecois French. She provides enough challenge to make me work hard, but also some latitude to make mistakes. I highly recommend Esther.
Bonus: you will also get to meet Yuri (the dog) and Demetri and Micha (the cats). You will soon realize that one day, Demetri will take over the world!View more recommendations
