About Janna

After high school, I graduated from college in Chicago with a bachelor's degree in Communications. I worked for a textbook publishing company and a magazine. Then I worked in the business field until I had 2 kids. Homeschooling them came naturally, and we had a blast! For our last school year when they were 12 and 14 years old, I bought a motorhome in Europe and drove 10,000 miles in 18 countries. We enjoyed numerous museums and learned so much from staying with 10 different friends. Because I like variety, I have worked as a substitute teacher for over 5 years, in many schools for all ages. I'm good at jumping onto the scene and assessing what needs to be done. Let's work together; I'll be happy to help you!

Tell me what you already know, and I'll pick it up from there. I'll teach you some shortcuts and memorable ways to remember the material.
There will be smiles and laughter, but if there happens to be tears, that's OK too! We'll keep it real.
I can teach a huge range of ages, as long as you have a lifelong desire to never stop learning.
Writing by hand helps retain information better than typing, so you'll need to have a writing utensil and paper, or a dry erase marker and whiteboard.
I enunciate clearly and have an encouraging nature. Let's get to know each other as soon as possible!
