About Savannah
ABOUT ME
I'm Savannah — a recent UNC-Chapel Hill honors graduate in English and Comparative Literature, a publishing professional, and a lover of all things books. I bring both academic expertise and creative expression to our lessons.
CHARLOTTE, NC-BASED
I'm a born-and-bred Charlottean from a family of North Carolina educators — and I have a deep knowledge of both state and national curriculum standards.
UNC-CHAPEL HILL ALUMNA
I was named UNC's 2018 Thomas Wolfe Scholar, the only full-ride scholarship for creative writing in the country. With years as both a student, teacher, and writer under my belt, I'm uniquely positioned to not only help you love literature — but also prep for college admissions.
LITERARY ENTHUSIAST
Diving into the world of literature is my passion! I'll help you dissect texts, uncover hidden meanings, and appreciate the art of words — while also dissecting how literature helps us understand the world around us.
️CREATIVE WORDSMITH ️
Let's explore your imagination and refine your writing skills. Whether it's essay writing, fiction, poetry, or another creative project, I'll help you establish creative writing fundamentals from ideation to the editing process, informed by my years in fiction thesis programs.
TEST PREP GURU
Cracking AP/SAT/ACT exams is more than just memorization — it's about applying your literary toolkit to new texts and ideas. I've got proven strategies to boost your scores, admissions chances, and confidence.
TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
I believe in fostering a nurturing yet challenging environment that empowers students to grow and excel — and that creativity and imagination help students thrive.
PROFESSIONAL APPROACH
All lessons are conducted with utmost professionalism, with a deep respect for my students, their parents, and their educators. Every student's growth and success is my top priority.
