About Renee
I am a recent graduate of Duke Divinity School in Durham, North Carolina, and I am here to help! I have over 5 years of experience as a professional tutor and teacher of film studies, and I have a passion for helping students of many ages discover their voice and talent in their creative and academic endeavors, especially in reading, writing, and critical thinking skills.
I have written extensively in academic and creative disciplines and I enjoy them both. I have taught a screenwriting course, written and directed independent films, crafted research papers and poetry, and preached a few sermons. I enjoy the challenges and joys of forming written thoughts in new ways.

I usually work with each student as an individual to help determine their own particular style of learning, pacing, and goals. We then discover what strengths the student already has and what they feel needs to be improved upon. I do not rush my students, but I seek to work with them where they are to improve over time. I give detailed feedback and consistent attention.
