About Joshua
During my high-school days, I won every University of Waterloo Math competition for my school, achieved a mark of 99% or 100% in 3 of the 5 math courses I took, and took all AP Math courses. I spent time in high school tutoring my peers and worked in a tutoring center as well. Nowadays I like to spend my time rock climbing and hiking in Northwestern BC, but I would like to tutor math virtually in my free time.

I have a natural ability for math, which I understand many people do not share. In my experience as a tutor, I have come to find that explaining mathematical concepts in a visual style aids understanding the most. I also believe that it is better for the student to ask lots of questions and direct their own learning by discovering where the inconsistencies lie with their own mental model of the subject.
