About Cindy

I have 38 years of teaching experience. I taught high school math for 4 years, then moved on to teaching math at a college for the rest of my career.
I was the math department chair at our college.
I also worked in our math tutoring center as a side job. I really enjoyed this! I have also worked as a private tutor several different times during my career.
I really love math!!

About the lesson

I always try to share my love of mathematics with the person that I am working with. My enthusiasm is quite contagious :)

It is very important that as a tutor and not the student's teacher, that I support the method of the teacher. It can be quite confusing to someone that is already struggling with math to have a tutor present a completely different method. So, I find out what method the student's teacher is using, then support that method with further explanation. I have my own methods (and of course, I like them best), but will support the teacher's methods, as not to confuse the student.

I have taught and tutored all levels - elementary through calculus.
