2008-2010 Co-investigator of LANGACROSS, a large collaborative research project involving four teams in France and Germany: “Utterance structure in context: First and second language acquisition in a cross-linguistic perspective.” I was responsible for coding and analyzing linguistic corpora in English and French that were collected from adults and children of 6 age groups. My own research also contributed new corpora involving Russian native speakers and learners.

I am passionate about teaching and learning languages. Since 2009, I have been teaching Russian at all levels. I taught Russian both in the private sector (teaching conversation to employees of travelling agencies as well as sales managers) and at a university level.
I teach both common Russian as well as Russian for specific purposes (tourism, legal and business Russian).
I hold an M.A. degree in teaching langauges as well as a Ph.D. in second language learning. In my doctoral thesis, I examined how Russians learn to express motion in English as a foreign language (examples of target sentences in English: "he walks across the street", "he climbs up the three" etc.). This study helped me master differences between Russian and English in the domain of motion. As you probably already know, verbs of motion are perhaps one of the most challenging aspects of learning Russian for speakers of English. If you struggle with them, I am the right person to contact!
Through my eduaction, teaching and research, I have acquired an extensive knowledge of the Russian language system (phonetcis and grammar, as well as the way Russian conceptualizes space and time) as well as how to teach this system. I use mixed methods that I adapt to each person according to her goals and progress.
I am currectly involved in an international research project which aims at understanding how two different orthographic systems (Russiand and English) co-exist in a learner's mind. I am thus currently acquiring new skills in understanding language processing in brain. We focus on words that are shared by Russian and English (e.g. koala-коала, guru-гуру). In spite of phonetic similarities and similarities in meaning that such words share, they are sometimes difficult to master, both in written and oral production, even for the advanced learners. Perfect! Une motivation à l'enseignement et au partage du savoir indéniable. Conséquence ? Un dynamisme et un entrain contagieux pour s'initier à l'apprentissage d'une nouvelle langue, le tout dans un cadre pédagogique maitriser et sérieux. La compétence est là et l'intérêt à l'échange également. Cela ne peut qu'aider à progresser avec une bonne dose de travail personnel cela va de soi !
