About Evelyn

I am a driven and accomplished first-generation Hispanic student with a strong passion for leadership, education, and community support. I founded and served as the first president of Latinas Leading Tomorrow, a nonprofit in Arlington, Virginia, dedicated to empowering Latina students. I graduated high school with a 4.3 GPA at 16 years old and earned a full-ride scholarship to university. For over a year, I worked for Arlington Public Schools, where I cared for and tutored students, further strengthening my skills in education and mentorship. Now, as an intern for DWECK, I continue to expand my professional experience while staying committed to making a meaningful impact in my community.

About the lesson

If you're looking for a tutor who is not only highly knowledgeable but also patient and understanding, I am the perfect choice. I graduated high school early at just 16 years old with straight A’s, having excelled in rigorous AP and IB courses, including AP BC Calculus, IB economics, Physics, etc. My strong academic background ensures that I can break down complex concepts in a way that’s easy to understand. Additionally, I have plenty of free time during my gap year, meaning I can provide flexible and dedicated support to my students. Beyond academics, my experience working and tutoring kids in Arlington Public Schools has strengthened my patience, and ability to connect and understand students. I create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and ultimately mastering their subjects with confidence.
