About Nonhlanhla
Nonhlanhla Ngcobo is a dedicated, efficient, enthusiastic and result oriented professional who has vast experience of managing technically complex projects in various environments. Nonhlanhla Ngcobo has worked in the science and technology innovation sector for over 8 years. She possesses a passionate desire to excel against challenging projects and assignments, with a relentless drive to have a broad impact on the project and value augmentation rather than just deliver results.
She has worked for the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA) in various roles as a Junior Investment Case Specialist, Investment Case Specialist, a Portfolio Manager as well as an Acting BioProcessing Cluster Manager. These roles entailed sourcing, funding and managing a portfolio of projects that were involved in development and commercialization of technology-based products/ services.
She has successfully managed a vast number of projects in the Agricultural, Industrial Biotechnology, Natural Resources, Health, Education and Indigenous Knowledge Systems Bio-Innovation with the ability to ensure their success and sustainability.
Some of the noted achievements of Nonhlanhla Ngcobo was her ability to manage projects with an approximate value of R 850 million rands, two projects she managed obtained first place in the Innovation Bridge Match Making Event, she created the TIA exit strategy, first documentations for the exit strategy, managed & exited a project that obtained the first international follow-on investments and sale agreements.
She has contributed to the enhancement of the Innovation System by serving in various committees such as CSIR: Biomanufacturing Industry Development Concept (BIDC) Steering Committee, EThekwini Municipality Projects Technical Steering Committee, Department of Economic Development and Tourism Steering Committee, Fermentation Technologies & Innovation advisory Steering Committee, Enzyme Biomanufacturing Workshop For South Africa Organising Committee, Aquaculture Stakeholder Workshop Organising Committee, Chief organiser of the Aquaculture Stakeholder Workshop, Department of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) Aquaculture Development Forum Steering Committee, TIA Representative for National Advisory Council of Innovation KZN Provincial Road show, iThala inkunzi iSematholeni Green Technology Programme Judge, Presenter and Mentor, Global Cleantech Innovation Programme Mentor and Judge.
Nonhlanhla Ngcobo has also worked as an Organic Chemistry Lecturer at the Durban University of Technology.
She received her qualification from University of Kwazulu Natal with a degree in Life Sciences majoring in Biochemistry and Microbiology, Honours in Biochemistry. She is currently completing her Master's Degree in Biotechnology. She has been accepted for an Executive MBA program at the Quantic School of Business and Technology which will commence in July 2021. She also possesses Project Management certificate from the Institute of Physics, Certificate of Entrepreneurship for Scientist and Engineers from University of Pretoria. She has a Diploma in Project management obtained from Alison, certificate in Acting and a certificate in Scriptwriting.
Nonhlanhla Ngcobo currently co-owns an Entertainment and Casting Agency, Famous Fountain. She is in the process of starting a Technology Accelerator and Incubation Company, LuThando Agape Accelerator-Incubator f Science Technology , which focuses on assisting small businesses by young entrepreneurs and women by equipping them to validate their ideas, develop their technologies, equip them with necessary tools, skills, mentorship and connections to ensure success.
Her training and career has exposed her to research & development, technology transfer & innovation, management of intellectual property, investment management, general management, teaching as well as management and development of staff, interns and students who are involved in projects.

I am a Biochemistry graduate majoring in Biochemistry and Microbiology. I also posses an Honors in Biochemistry. I am currently writing a dissertation and have also been accepted for the Executive MBA program at Quantic School of Business and Technology. I have 5 years experience in tutoring and 1 year experience as a lecturer. I teach and tutor organic chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biology up to University third year level; and Math up to grade 12 level.
The teaching method I adopt is a demonstrative and brain storming method. In my demonstrative method coupled with the brainstorming method I like to include multimedia presentations, activities, and demonstrations for better comprehension of a lesson for the students.
