One of the challenges is of learning English is fear. Having the courage to maintain momentum for learning and experiencing a new place is not easy. Some students test the waters, but are reluctant to embark on the journey. When I teach my students, I often speak about learning and experience as being like the waves of the ocean--going in and out--there are times of desire to immerse, and times where one wants "refueling". Learning is fun and everyone can lean.
