About Amara
I am a dedicated and motivated A-level student at a grammar school with a strong passion for humanities; taking History and Sociology at A-level. I also struggled massively with Geography - moving from a 5 to a grade 8 in one year - and therefore understand the challenges, but I know how to overcome them and build confidence step by step. Having achieved grade 9s in all humanities and consistent top grades across all my subjects, I understand what it takes to succeed in exams. I aim to inspire confidence in my students by creating a supportive learning environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and developing their skills. I understand that some students are not comfortable asking for help in class and I am excited to provide them with encouragement to help them build confidence. My lessons are tailored to each student’s needs, combining clear explanations with practical exam strategies. I can offer not only subject knowledge but also relatable guidance that helps students feel over-prepared, confident, and capable of achieving their best.

My lessons are personalised and student-led, with each session adapted to suit the student’s individual learning style, goals and areas for improvement. I focus on clear explanations, breaking down challenging concepts into manageable steps, and using practice questions to develop understanding and confidence. Lessons are typically one hour long and are suitable for students aged 8–16, including 11+ preparation and GCSE-level support. I have over 2 years of tutoring experience and additional experience teaching children through coaching.

I supervised Amara at our tutoring centre, where she supported Year 4 and Year 6 students. She consistently worked hard, marking students’ work carefully and using this to identify areas where pupils needed extra support.
