I have thirty years of experience teaching high school and college English and composition classes. I have taught thousands of students over the years, at all levels of skill. I love working with students on improving their writing. The College Essay was my favorite assignment!

My approach to teaching is to learn what I can about the students I am working with, including what type of instruction works best for them. I try to adapt my style to the students I work with. In terms of writing, my approach is to guide students through many drafts of a piece of writing. Like anything else, writing is a skill that gets better with practice.
