About Nathan

I am a graduate (1st class) in Spanish and History at the University of Leeds, with experience in teaching Spanish at Beginner's level at a local primary school, tutoring English to children while living in Spain, and further background in the Special Educational Needs sector. Although not a native Spanish speaker, I am fluent in the language, and familiar with how it is taught at each stage of acquisition. I am also trained and certified as a TEFL teacher.

About the lesson

I pride my teaching on being adaptable to the needs of each student. I am adept at teaching Spanish from the Beginner through to the Upper Intermediate stages, and I am also qualified to teach both Business and General English to speakers of other languages.

For each lesson, I mould the content and style around the activities and subject matter each student considers most important and accessible. The main aim of my lessons is to maximise the productive time of the student, building their confidence in the language as much as possible. This is done primarily through fun and varied speaking activities, with supplementary listening, writing, and reading work to give each student a confident and rounded grasp of the language.

Nathan gave me Spanish lessons while I was studying for my masters degree to prepare for an upcoming trip to spain. Each lesson was clearly laid out to me, he compiled his own teaching resources to teach me grammar, and communicated with me to prioritise what I needed to learn. What I found most useful was that he gave me a list of words and phrases that would apply to my day to day life throughout the week, so I could easily practice in small amounts, which would be supplemented by larger chunks of revision. Nathan explains things clearly, and creates a comfortable teaching environment where questions can be asked easily. I would definitely recommend him.
