About Margarita

I am a Spanish instructor with experience teaching and tutoring all levels from preschool to college. I use music, games, reading, online tools, worksheets, and fun activities to help students with language acquisition. I have a Master's in Spanish, a minor in French and Linguistics, and I am fluent in Italian as well. I've tutored since 2005. I am originally from Peru.

About the lesson

I tailor my teaching to my student's needs and learning style. Some students need more help with grammar, and some need conversation practice. Some learn visually, but some need repetition (audio) and hands-on practice (activities, interactive tools, videos).

Perfect! Señora Margarita is has been such a great find for our family! As a professor, she is very qualified and knowledgeable about teaching Spanish, but she is able to bring these concepts to a level that our young kids can understand--and enjoy! She is incredibly talented, and also friendly and easy to chat with in either language. I highly recommend her for ages 5 to adult, for tutoring or teaching.

Margarita's response
I am enjoying giving lessons to Kirsten's and Jordi's dauhgters. They are so willing and enthusiastic and open to learn. They also enjoy the activities, songs, games I prepare for them. Although they are 12, 6 and 5, it is easy to transition and change the lessons for each of them. They love singing, moving and playing, drawing and listen attentively; they make teaching, or language acquisition, a joy for me. I enjoy preparing their lessons and look forward to see what they remember, learn and want to do each class.

Perfect! Margarita met myself and my two young daughters at our home to discuss tutoring. She was on time, very patient with the little ones, and had great ideas about how to approach Spanish tutoring for our individual needs. We look forward to learning from Margarita and are excited to begin our journey of language learning!

Margarita's response
The student knows some Spanish and learns fast! He was motivated and engaged, and is also smart. I hope to keep that motivation, so he can soon have conversations in Spanish here locally or anywhere he travels!

My rates can change with distance: farther than 06 miles (I'm in OCN 92057) my rate will be $40-50. If it's in Carlsbad and farther south (or over 20 miles) approx. $55-$70. I can offer a discount if I come for more than 1.5 hour or if I have another student in that area the same day and we meet weekly regularly. However, if the student requires a teaching plan instead of only school tutoring, the rates will be slightly higher and will depend on student level, and learning style as this requires lengthier and customized lessons preparation and material. No show policy: can postpone one time or TWO (if sick or life emergency). Student has to reschedule and notify me at least 24 hrs. in advance (unless sick, then please notify 8 hrs before if possible). After that, no-show (cancellation 1 hr rate may apply).
