About Reina
My passion for Spanish started with a fascination for its expressive richness, musicality, and cultural depth. This led me to pursue a B.A. in Hispanic Studies and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics, equipping me with both linguistic expertise and effective teaching strategies. Over the past 9 years, I have guided learners from beginner to advanced levels, fostering fluency, confidence, and cultural literacy.
I emphasize a patient, structured, and interactive approach to teaching. Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals and learning pace, incorporating practical exercises, real-life conversation, and engaging cultural insights. My focus is on helping students feel confident, capable, and motivated while learning Spanish.
Outside of teaching, I immerse myself in Spanish media, literature, and cultural exploration. Teaching is deeply rewarding because I witness learners transform from hesitant speakers into fluent communicators, confident in both spoken and written Spanish. Supporting students to engage with the language meaningfully and fluently is the most fulfilling part of my work.

Spanish learning becomes most effective when students can relate the language to real-life situations and cultural understanding. My lessons focus on grammar, vocabulary, sentence formation, pronunciation, listening comprehension, reading fluency, and conversational confidence. I create a welcoming and patient environment where learners feel comfortable practicing freely, experimenting with language, and asking questions without hesitation.
Beginners work on essential phrases, greetings, present tense verbs, pronunciation, and constructing simple sentences, gradually gaining confidence in spoken Spanish. Intermediate learners advance to complex verb tenses, idiomatic expressions, interactive dialogues, and written exercises. Advanced learners refine nuanced grammar, professional writing, oral presentations, and cultural comprehension. Lessons are enriched with interactive roleplay, authentic media, and scenario-based activities to ensure practical and meaningful application of language.
Spanish lessons enhance not only communication skills but also cultural understanding, independence, and self-confidence. Students often feel proud when they can hold conversations, understand media, or express themselves clearly in writing. Over time, they achieve fluency, natural expression, and comfort using Spanish in diverse contexts. My goal is to make Spanish lessons both highly effective and enjoyable, instilling curiosity and a love for language in each learner.
