About Mdyah
Over the past seven years, I’ve had the privilege of helping over 150 high school and college students improve their Spanish through tailored, interactive lessons. I focus on creating a supportive environment where students feel safe to make mistakes and grow. We work together to develop all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing, with a heavy emphasis on communication. My lessons include engaging activities like storytelling, debates, and music analysis to keep learning lively and fun. I also help students prepare for exams with targeted practice on difficult grammar topics and test-taking strategies. One student who came to me anxious about passing their AP Spanish exam ended up scoring a 5 thanks to our consistent, focused work. Whether you’re just starting out or aiming for fluency, I’m committed to helping you reach your full potential with patience and encouragement.

I believe that language learning should be a rewarding and individualized experience, and I bring compassion, integrity, and adaptability to every Spanish lesson I teach. Compassion means I listen closely to your goals and challenges, meeting you exactly where you are on your language journey. I encourage you to embrace mistakes as part of learning and provide consistent support so you never feel alone in the process.
Teaching with integrity means that I prioritize clear, honest explanations and help you build a solid understanding of Spanish grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. I avoid shortcuts or rote memorization, focusing instead on skills that prepare you for confident, real-world communication. Adaptability is key—I tailor lessons to your unique style, using a range of methods from role-play and conversation to written exercises and cultural discussions.
I also integrate authentic materials like songs, videos, and articles to make learning dynamic and practical. This flexible, student-centered approach helps you stay motivated and connected to your goals, whether for school, travel, or personal enrichment. The same principles of compassion and honesty guide my teaching in other subjects, aiming always to empower learners to thrive.
