About Dinesh
Hello! My name is Dinesh Satyavolu, and I am an experienced chess player and tutor. I have been playing chess for about 4 years now, and have tutored for 2 years.
In my chess career, I have gained around 17 achievements and counting, all in the top 5 placements. I have reached an expert level in chess, and have gone to many state tournaments in North Carolina, recently a runner-up in my latest one.
Overall, I am a very passionate chess player, and I enjoy the game deeply. I have met various professional chess players, joined chess programs, and socialized in the chess community. Thank you for reading and I hope to see you soon!

My teaching method uses Lichess.org. With this program, I share a study to students, where they can follow along with the moves that are made on a shared chess board. Along with this, I provide practice materials after the lesson, and resources personally created by me for improvement. We will mostly stick to using Lichess.org features as it is a user-friendly interface as well as a free platform for students! We will either meet on Zoom or Google Meet.
The lessons are mostly about strategies, tactics, openings, middlegames, endgames, and theory.
What sets me apart is that I have experience in tournament situations as I have qualified in various state tournaments in North Carolina, such as the NC Open, NC Closed, K-12 Championship, and others. Along with this, I have 2 years of chess tutoring experience. With this, I understand students well and where they are stuck, and I can help them work out any problems they have.
I plan to start lessons in June.
