About Katherine
Hi there! I'm Katherine Mendoza, and I’m here to make math less scary and more rewarding — whether you’re solving basic equations in elementary school or working through complex problems in college. With a background in Civil Engineering and experience tutoring students from elementary to senior high school, I understand how challenging (and sometimes overwhelming) math can feel. But don’t worry — you're not alone! I’m here to walk you through every concept step by step, at your pace, with patience, encouragement, and a positive attitude. I believe that every student learns differently, so I tailor my teaching methods to suit your learning style — whether you're a visual learner, a hands-on problem solver, or need a little extra time to master certain topics. I’ve helped students build their confidence in math, boost their grades, and even enjoy the subject (yes, it’s possible!). As someone who’s detail-oriented, organized, and always prepared, I treat every tutoring session professionally and respectfully. My goal is to help you not just pass your subjects, but truly understand the “why” behind every solution. You can count on me for reliable support, clear explanations, and a friendly learning environment. Let’s conquer math together — one problem at a time!

I focus on building strong foundational understanding by breaking down complex math concepts into simple, relatable steps. I use a combination of visual aids, real-world examples, and guided practice to help students actively engage with the material. I also tailor my approach based on each student’s learning style—whether visual, auditory, or kinesthetic.
Typical Lesson Plan:
* Quick Review of previous topics or assignments
* Goal Setting for the session
* Concept Introduction using clear explanations and examples
* Guided Practice with step-by-step support
* Independent Practice to build confidence
* Feedback & Tips for retention and improvement
* Homework Suggestions or preview of next topic
What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor:
I’m not just here to teach math—I’m here to make students enjoy learning it. I’m patient, encouraging, and I make sure each session is stress-free but effective. My ability to explain concepts in multiple ways helps students truly understand, not just memorize. I also provide consistent progress tracking and feedback.
My lessons are perfect for:
* Elementary, high school, and college students
* Students preparing for entrance exams, standardized tests, or board exams
