About Amanda

Hi! I’m Amanda, a Ph.D. student in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a B.S. in Chemistry and a Math minor. I’ve been tutoring math for over two years and love helping students turn frustration into confidence. As someone who’s worked through challenging STEM courses myself, I understand how overwhelming math can feel, but I also know how rewarding it is once it clicks. My goal is to make each lesson clear, encouraging, and tailored to your learning style. I take pride in being patient, reliable, and genuinely invested in your success. Whether you’re catching up, preparing for an exam, or aiming to strengthen your math skills, I’m here to help you feel capable and confident every step of the way.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is all about making math feel less intimidating and more doable. I focus on understanding why things work, not just memorizing formulas. I like to break problems into simple, logical steps and connect them to real-world examples so the material actually makes sense.
A typical lesson starts with reviewing what you already know, identifying where you’re getting stuck, and then working through targeted practice problems together. I always make sure you leave each session feeling more confident than when you started.
What sets me apart is my patience, positive attitude, and ability to explain tough concepts in a way that finally “clicks.” I’m not just here to help you get the right answer; I want you to truly understand the process behind it and think critically.
My lessons are perfect for high school and college students taking Algebra, Geometry, Precalculus, or Calculus, as well as anyone who wants to strengthen their math foundations.
