I believe in-depth understanding and quick-thinking are qualities you need, especially for subjects like maths, physics, computer science, etc. It's important that the student understands the core of subjects. Once that area is thorough, he/she may practice questions in that section and move on to difficult questions while keeping the time constraints in mind. Be it elementary, high school, or college this method of learning will greatly benefit the student as the subjects like maths and physics are application-based subjects.
