About Kea
Hi, I'm Kea! I'm 19 years old and currently on a gap year before heading to university to study Film and Television Production. I aspire to be a screenwriter after graduating. I love writing, learning, exploring new places and a good challenge; I'm not afraid to put myself out there and help others along the way.
Throughout my academic career, I have been a high-achieving student, gaining grades 7-9 at GCSE for a diverse range of subjects, including Geography (grade 8), English Language and Literature (grade 9s) and Film Studies (grade 9). I also studied these subjects at A Level, achieving grades A*AB, alongside an A* (and award-winning) Extended Project Qualification.
I am adventurous, creative and compassionate, willing to be a friend as much as a tutor. I understand completely how stressful studying can get, but I'm here to ease the pressure and help you to learn, using my experiences and perspectives to push you to do your best for yourself. My teaching style can be flexible to your needs — after all, you're the one taking the exams!
I enjoy making learning fun, engaging and creative, as I believe that humour has the power to make things stick. I'm not afraid to laugh at myself, either! I also believe that mistakes are vital (I wouldn't be half the person I am today without messing up a few times) and that success should be measured in what you've learnt for yourself, rather than what grade you get in a final exam. I'm here to help you help yourself, in whatever way you need.

I have a fun, low-pressure approach to learning, preferring a creative method to match the artistry of the subject but able to adapt my style to a student's preference. I offer support with English Language and Literature course content and subject-specific skills, at secondary, GCSE and A Level; I am also willing to cover general essay writing, public speaking (for presentations and Spoken Language exams) and fiction and non-fiction creative writing. Over the course of my education, I have created a range of engaging revision techniques (such as doodled plot summaries, quizzes and even Shakespeare parody songs!) that have helped me to achieve consistently high results, all of which can be adapted to an individual learner's style and interests to help them do their best too.
My passion for English as a subject and writing as a creative medium more than makes up for my lack of tutoring experience. I have achieved two Grade 9s in English at GCSE and a B for English Language and Literature at A Level, as well as having plenty of experience with crafting A* grade essays across subjects. I aspire to be a screenwriter, so you can guarantee that every lesson comes from a place of genuine enjoyment of English.
I aim to be flexible with my lessons: I am willing to offer group, one-to-one and online sessions, depending on each student's needs and preferred learning styles.
