Hi everyone,
When you walk into a new classroom, you probably expect the same routine: a long list of rules, a heavy textbook, and a teacher who does 90% of the talking while everyone else tries to stay awake.
I want to do things differently here.
We aren’t just going to memorize facts to pass a test and forget them a week later. Instead, we are going to learn the new ideas of teaching.
• No "gotcha" moments: My job isn't to trick you on exams; it’s to make sure you actually understand the material. If you're stuck, we fix it together.
• Your voice matters: We will spend less time listening to me lecture and more time debating, creating, and experimenting. Your questions and weird ideas are welcome here.
• Progress over perfection: You are allowed to make mistakes. In fact, mistakes are where the actual learning happens.
I don't expect you to just take my word for it today. Give me a couple of weeks. If this class doesn't feel more engaging, more practical, and less soul-crushing than what you're used to, call me out on it.
