About Valentina
I graduated in biological science with a higher score (110 summa cum laude) and I received my Ph.D. in cellular and molecular biology at the University of Tor Vergata in Rome and I obtained the title of “Associate Fellow” of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) at the University of Surrey in the UK. I have given talks at many events at the University of Southampton in the UK where I was part of a team focused on teaching science to children and their parents in a fun and educative way. I gave lectures in laboratory practicals for undergraduate students at the University of Surrey, microbiology, genetic and molecular, and cell biology. I have also taught laboratory workshops for international students from Shanghai. For the last two years, I have tutored many online students (GCSE, A-level, High School and University degrees), helping them to prepare for their exams.

I like to personalise my class every time for specific needs, so I will ask you what your goals are, and what you find difficult. I will help you develop a perfect plan that will allow you to learn in the most effective and fast way in accordance with your level and pace. I noticed that my students particularly appreciate the way I always find practical, real-life examples to explain the reasons why some theories, phenomena, and techniques in laboratory work, because as we know, it is always easier to memorise something when put into a real case scenario. I can help you to unravel the mystic world of science, helping you with biology, biotechnology, genetic engineering, biochemistry, genetics, human physiology, microbiology class, and also with laboratory dissertations, PowerPoint presentations, and more.

Valentina has been tutoring me in biology and chemistry for almost two years now and we meet regularly once or twice a week. She's very knowledgeable and thorough in her explanations, she also checks in with me throughout the lesson to make sure I understand. Outside of lesson time she also sends me homework assignments to complete so that I can solidify my learning. I would recommend working with Valentina to any student who is committed to their learning!
Valentina is very passionate about her subjects and her enthusiasm is of extreme help when learning complex topics. She is very professional, kind and a very good tutor!
I'm director of the Biological Sciences programme of the University of Surrey (UK) and Valentina has worked with me for several years, teaching students in many fields of biology. She is extremely competent and able to explain concepts very clearly, she cares about her students and she has a very engaging way of teaching.
I worked with Valentina when I was working on my PhD. She is very experienced in molecular biology and taught me a lot. Besides being a great teacher she is super fun, friendly and I could approach her with any questions big or small about science!
