About Scarlet

I am a Soprano from Hong Kong, and have been studying in the UK for a few years, currently reading music at King's College London. My musical journey began at the tender age of 3 with piano studying under the guidance of Dr. Crystal Lam Kai Yin, and have been eager to learn more instruments to broaden my musical horizon. Studying cello with Eric Yip and Tan Cong, and Singing with Jovita Leung, Albert Lim, Andrew Kidd and Sarah Champion. As a musician, I was awarded a Specialist Musician Scholarship at Wells Cathedral School, and have participated in multiple orchestras, and choirs, with performance and competition experiences across both Europe and Asia. Recent and upcoming performances include Handel - Messiah, Mahler Symphony no.2, and Lord of the Rings in Concert at the Royal Albert Hall. I enjoy teaching and sharing my knowledge with students. It is my dream that my students would share my love for music and have it be an important part of their life.

About the lesson

I strive to make the experience fun and enjoyable, and at-home practice manageable with clear goals and practice methods. Not only developing technical skills but also musicianship. Moreover, I believe in encouraging parents to take part in the learning process as a learning partner for your child. Occasionally helping them with practice makes them feel they're not alone in the process. I also understand that not all parents would have the time or patience to oversee their children's practice, and would be more than happy to make adjustments and suggestions that suit each family's schedule.

Scarlet is an incredibly gifted musician, with a clear passion for music and teaching. She has a range of teaching experience on top of her concerts and functions and due to her experience babysitting, works especially well with children young people. I have had the pleasure of working with her for multiple chamber projects and I look forward to working with her in the next few years.
