My Teaching Approach Teaching Method and Techniques My teaching approach is student-centered, practical, and supportive. I believe that language is best learned through use, not memorization. I focus on helping students understand Filipino in a natural way and gradually build their confidence in speaking. I use: • Simple explanations of grammar • Real-life examples and situations • Repetition and guided practice • Visual aids, slides, and short exercises • Conversation practice from the start I adjust my teaching style based on the student’s level, pace, and learning goals. I am patient and encouraging, and I make sure students feel comfortable making mistakes, as mistakes are part of learning. Typical Lesson Plan A usual 50-minute lesson follows this structure: • Warm-up / Review (5 minutes) Short conversation or review of the previous lesson • New Lesson (10–15 minutes) Introduction of new words, expressions, or grammar • Guided Practice (15 minutes) Sentence building, pronunciation practice, and short exercises • Conversation Practice (10–15 minutes) Using the new lesson in real-life situations • Review and Homework (5 minutes) Summary of key points and optional practice tasks Lessons are flexible and adjusted based on the student’s needs. What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor • I am a trained Filipino language teacher, not just a native speaker • I explain Filipino grammar in a simple and easy-to-understand way • I focus on practical, everyday Filipino, not textbook-only language • I am patient, friendly, and supportive • I personalize lessons for each student My goal is not just to teach Filipino, but to help students use the language confidently in real life. Who My Lessons Are For My lessons are suitable for: • Complete beginners with no Filipino background • Intermediate learners who want to improve conversation • Children and teens learning Filipino • Foreigners, OFWs’ children, travelers, and expats • Learners studying Filipino for work, travel, or personal interest • Lessons are open to all ages and levels, and I adjust the content according to the learner’s goals.
