About Juan
My name is Juan, and I’m a Chicago-based artist and educator with a passion for helping others discover their creativity. I have experience teaching art to children through community programs, summer art classes, and classroom activities. I currently work with Chicago Public Schools, supporting students with different learning abilities and educational needs.
As an artist, I work with oil paints, acrylics, watercolor, drawing, and mixed media. My approach to teaching focuses on patience, encouragement, and allowing students to explore their imagination without fear of making mistakes.
Growing up, I experienced firsthand how discouragement can affect a young artist’s confidence. That experience shaped the kind of educator I want to be.
My goal is simple: to help students believe in themselves, develop their artistic abilities, and understand that creativity has no limits.

My art lessons are about more than just learning how to draw or paint. I believe art is a powerful way to express yourself, build confidence, and discover your creativity. With experience teaching children and working with different artistic mediums, including oil painting, acrylics, watercolor, and drawing, I create lessons that are fun, engaging, and tailored to each student’s abilities. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to improve your skills, my goal is to help you develop your own artistic voice while learning new techniques. I believe everyone has the ability to create something meaningful. All they need is encouragement, patience, and the freedom to explore.
