About Margaret

My name is Margaret and has been a teacher for more than 25 years.
I teach English, Maths and Science from Key Stage 2 to 3 with English, Science and Geography up to A' Level. My supplementary education helps children of any ability to reach their potential. I am able to prepare children for specific tests and assessments whilst building confidence in their ability and giving them the tools for life long learning. My teaching style empowers the students to take greater ownership of their learning. The lessons establish student ownership as students will be introduced to new topics via prep work and then consolidated during tutor sessions. The flexibility of my approach provides both teacher centred and student centred learning, this enable the students to be both sponges and inquirers when acquiring new information. I worked closely with students of Kinesthetic learning, visual learning, audio learning and tactile learning styles to support their needs.

Margaret joined our team for 6 months and has proved to be an incredible asset to the department. She picked up a range of classes, in all year groups, from Year 7 to 10. Her behaviour management was outstanding and she calmly settled what had been, some disruptive classes. She was highly professional throughout her time in the department and was also prepared, planning a number of her lessons from scratch. Her marking was meticulous, incorporating much peer and self assessment as well. Margaret had a great passion, was very flexible, evidenced by her teaching of History as well as Geography and was aware of her students needs.
