About Robert

My name is Robert and I am originally from New York City. I grew up there, but also spent time living in Barcelona, Spain, London, England, and spent almost three years living in Paris. After moving back from Paris, I got my master's degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages & French/English Bilingual Education). My undergraduate degree is in Art History, with a minor in Math. I am currently teaching fourth and fifth grade in French, and then teach two periods of sixth grade Math, taught in English. Besides my current experience, I have tutored all ages in Math and French from kindergarten to twelfth grade.

About the lesson

Math should always begin with front-loading of vocabulary to ensure success in the problems. A lot of students struggle with Math not due to the computations, but rather the vocabulary and the barrier it creates between the learner and the answer in word problems. I then customize examples based on the needs of the learner, being sure to adapt as we move forward in order to provide the best instruction possible.
