About Victoria
With over 15 years of teaching experience, I bring a personalized and student-focused approach to every lesson. I believe each student is unique, with their own strengths and talents, and I work to ensure this individuality is reflected in their academic progress. My goal is not just to help students understand content but to build confidence and help them express themselves clearly and effectively in exams and beyond. I teach Economics, Business Studies, Psychology, and English Literature across GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level, IB, and university levels, and I also provide support in French and EFL. I’ve successfully assisted students with school entrance exams, personal statements, and managing academic stress. As a tutor, I take a student-centered, supportive, and results-driven approach tailored to each learner’s needs. Whether tutoring English, Business, Economics, or Psychology at GCSE, A-Level, or IB level, I focus on building understanding through clear explanation, real-world applications, and active engagement.
My teaching method involves breaking down complex concepts into manageable parts, using exam-board-specific techniques across Edexcel, AQA, OCR, Cambridge, and IB, and incorporating past papers, examiner-style questions, model answers, and interactive discussions. I promote critical thinking and confidence while reinforcing essential exam skills such as timing, structure, planning, and command-word analysis.
A typical lesson begins with a short recap or review quiz, followed by focused instruction on a core topic, guided practice, and ends with assessment tasks or personalised feedback. I continually adapt lessons based on student progress, using data, observation, and learner feedback to refine learning goals and maximise results.
What sets me apart is my ability to connect with students, simplify challenging concepts, and teach exactly what examiners are looking for. As an examiner of four years, I bring insider knowledge of marking criteria, common mistakes, and what earns top-band marks. I have experience supporting students across a wide range of abilities from those needing foundational support to high achievers aiming for top grades. I also mentor students on coursework, Internal Assessments (IA), Extended Essays (EE), and written assignments, ensuring excellence in both content and academic writing.
