About Alaina
Hi! I'm Alaina, a recent Texas A&M University graduate with a degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I'm naturally outgoing, love meeting new people, and genuinely enjoy helping students succeed. During college, I worked as both an Organic Chemistry Tutor and a Biochemistry SI Leader, and those experiences confirmed that teaching is something I truly love.
One of my favorite hobbies is creating graphics and visual study resources that make science easier to understand. I believe learning should be engaging, encouraging, and maybe even a little fun. My goal is to create a comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating their progress along the way.
I'm currently preparing to pursue a Ph.D. in Biochemistry with the goal of becoming both a researcher and a university professor, so teaching is much more than a side job for me. It's something I'm genuinely passionate about, and I'd love the opportunity to help you achieve your goals.

Science has always been my favorite subject to learn and teach because I see it as a puzzle. At first, all the disconnected pieces can seem overwhelming, but as you start putting them together, the bigger picture begins to emerge, allowing you to appreciate the incredible science behind life. I genuinely love helping students build confidence in these courses because they're often taught in a way that feels overwhelming, with information scattered across lectures, slides, and textbooks. My goal is to help organize those pieces into a clear picture that feels logical and easy to understand.
As a former Organic Chemistry Tutor and Biochemistry SI Leader at Texas A&M University, I've worked with all kinds of learners, so I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I take the time to understand how each student learns best and adjust my teaching style to match.
One of my biggest strengths is breaking down complex topics into something approachable and understandable. I'm a very visual person, so I love creating diagrams, graphics, and step-by-step illustrations that help students see how concepts connect instead of simply memorizing facts. I also encourage lots of questions and conversation because I want lessons to feel relaxed, interactive, and even fun. My favorite part of tutoring is watching students start putting the pieces together for themselves. Once they begin to see the bigger picture, confidence grows, curiosity takes over, and learning becomes genuinely enjoyable.
Whether we're preparing for an exam, working through homework, or reviewing an entire course, my goal is simple: to help you leave every lesson feeling more confident than when you arrived. I tutor college and high school students in biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry, and I'd love to help you reach your goals!
