About Jacob
As an experienced educator with over a decade of classroom and curriculum design experience, I blend rigorous academic standards with innovative, student-centered teaching strategies to foster deep engagement and critical thinking. My passion for lifelong learning drives me to continually integrate technology, project-based learning, and differentiated instruction, ensuring every student’s unique strengths are amplified. Through collaborative partnerships with colleagues, community organizations, and industry professionals, I create authentic learning experiences that connect classroom concepts to real-world challenges, preparing students not only for exams but for meaningful, impactful futures.
Beyond the classroom, I am a lifelong learner and avid reader who believes that curiosity is the engine of growth. I am also a professional software engineer, which keeps my mind sharp in logic, problem-solving, and adapting to new technologies—skills that directly translate into designing efficient, modern learning strategies for my students.
My life spans two landscapes: I regularly commute between Texas and Utah, giving me a broad perspective on American regional diversity and the flexibility to connect with students across different time zones and lifestyles. This constant movement reflects my broader worldview—I am deeply passionate about learning the cultures, histories, and stories of people from every corner of the globe. In turn, I love sharing not only the English language but also the richness of Western culture, traditions, and perspectives with my students. For me, teaching is a true cultural exchange: I learn from you, and you learn from me, creating a classroom where every lesson is a bridge between worlds.

Hello! I’m Jacob, an American English teacher dedicated to guiding students of all levels on their English language journey. With a CELTA certification and over five years of teaching experience, I’m fully qualified to teach English from the very beginning (A1 and A2) through intermediate (B1 PET) and B2 (FCE), and all the way up to advanced (C1 CAE) and C2 (CPE) levels. Whether you’re just starting out or aiming to master the nuances of high-level English, I’m here to help you achieve fluency and confidence.
I am a CELTA-certified English teacher with over five years of experience coaching students across all proficiency levels, from A1 beginner to C2 mastery. I specialize in IELTS preparation and accent reduction, helping learners refine every aspect of their English—whether that is fluency, pronunciation, grammar, or confidence in real-world communication.
My teaching philosophy is deeply shaped by a unique blend of academic and professional backgrounds. With training in theater and criminal justice, I bring both creativity and disciplined structure into every lesson. The theater side of me helps students feel comfortable expressing themselves, using voice, emotion, and storytelling to make language come alive. The criminal justice background gives me a methodical, analytical approach to problem-solving, which I apply to breaking down complex grammar rules and building clear, logical learning paths.
I am passionate about making English relevant and engaging through literature, cultural references, and real-life contexts. I believe language is not just a set of rules—it is a living tool for connection, opportunity, and self-expression. Beyond general English, my deep interests in psychology, business, finance, and spirituality allow me to offer specialized vocabulary, industry-specific discussions, and tailored lessons for professionals who need English for their careers or personal growth.
Whether you are preparing for an IELTS exam, working to neutralize your accent, or simply want to speak more naturally and powerfully, I am here to guide you with patience, strategy, and genuine enthusiasm.
I look forward to meeting you and making our lessons together an inspiring journey. Let us dive into the richness of the English language and unlock new opportunities together!
