About HARRIET

Teaching is in my blood - I'm the daughter of a teacher, and I've always been passionate about helping others learn and grow. With an MBA from a UK university and 10 years as a flight attendant having visited over 100 countries, I bring a unique, global perspective to every lesson. My extensive travel experience has given me deep insight into the challenges of communicating across cultures and the confidence that comes from mastering a new language. I've worked with people from every corner of the world, and I understand firsthand how empowering it is to express yourself clearly and naturally in English. What I love most about teaching is breaking down complex ideas into digestible, easy-to-understand bite-sized pieces. Whether it's tricky grammar rules, business terminology, or conversation skills, I make learning feel approachable and achievable. My greatest joy is watching my students succeed, seeing that "aha!" moment when everything clicks, and witnessing their growing confidence as they reach their goals. I create a warm, supportive environment where you can learn at your own pace without pressure or judgment. Let's work together to unlock your English potential and help you communicate with confidence in any situation!

My Teaching Approach
Teaching Methodology and Techniques

I believe that learning English should feel natural and engaging, not like memorizing rules from a textbook. My approach is student-centered and communication-focused, meaning every lesson is tailored to your specific goals, interests, and learning style.

I use a blend of techniques including:
- Conversational practice to build fluency and confidence
- Real-world materials like articles, videos, and podcasts that match your interests
- Interactive exercises that make grammar and vocabulary stick naturally
- Immediate feedback to help you improve in real-time without fear of mistakes

My philosophy is simple: the best way to learn a language is to use it actively, not passively study it.

A Typical Lesson Plan
- Each 60-minute lesson follows a dynamic structure designed to maximize your learning:
- Warm-up (10 minutes)
- We start with casual conversation about your week, current events, or topics you're passionate about. This gets you thinking in English and builds confidence.
- Focused Learning (25 minutes)

We dive into your specific goals, whether that's mastering tricky grammar points, expanding vocabulary for your field, preparing for presentations, or practicing pronunciation. I use relevant examples and interactive activities to make concepts clear and memorable.

Practice & Application (20 minutes)
You put new skills into action through role-plays, discussions, writing exercises, or real-world scenarios. This is where learning becomes automatic.

Review & Homework (5 minutes)
- We recap key takeaways and I provide optional practice materials tailored to reinforce what we've covered.
- Every lesson adapts to your pace and needs; some days we might focus entirely on conversation, other days on writing or exam preparation.

What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor
- Personalized attention: I don't believe in one-size-fits-all lessons. Whether you're preparing for IELTS, need business English for your career, or want to feel comfortable chatting with native speakers, I design every session around your specific objectives.
- Patient and encouraging: I create a judgment-free space where mistakes are simply steps toward improvement. Many students tell me they feel more confident speaking English after just a few sessions.
- Cultural insights: Language is more than words; I help you understand the cultural context, idioms, and nuances that make your English sound natural and authentic.
- Flexible and responsive: If something isn't working, we adjust immediately. Your progress and comfort are my top priorities.
