About Yuhang
I am a recent UCD graduate with a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering. I also hold a Master’s degree in Electrochemical Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Dalian University of Technology.
Chemistry has been an important part of my academic journey. At secondary school, I won first prize in a provincial chemistry competition, achieved full marks in a chemistry examination, and regularly helped classmates as the chemistry class representative.
Chemistry did not always feel easy to me at first. My understanding improved when I stopped treating topics as isolated facts and began looking for the principles connecting them. I would now like to help students make the same transition. I enjoy turning complicated ideas into clear, logical explanations and helping students approach chemistry with greater confidence.

My lessons focus on helping students understand the “why” behind knowledge points rather than relying only on rote memorisation. Topics that initially seem complicated or disconnected often become much simpler once the underlying principles and connections are clear.
I tailor each lesson to the student’s individual needs, recent mistakes and areas of difficulty. We begin by identifying the key concept, explore it through intuitive explanations and real-life examples, and then work through an exam-style question step by step. The student will then apply the same reasoning to a similar problem independently, helping to build both understanding and confidence.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes and are suitable for Leaving Cert students at Higher or Ordinary Level. I hold Master’s degrees in Chemical Engineering and Electrochemical Engineering, with particular strengths in calculation-based chemistry, thermochemistry, reaction rates, equilibrium and electrochemistry.
