About Zayan
Hi, I’m Zayan, a second-year Economics student at UCL with previous experience tutoring Maths to students of different abilities. I’ve always enjoyed Maths and particularly enjoy helping students turn topics they initially find difficult into something they feel confident tackling independently.
Having recently gone through GCSEs and A-Levels myself, I understand both the academic demands and the pressure that can come with exams. I aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to build their confidence in Maths and develop skills that will help them throughout their studies.

My lessons are tailored to each student and their individual strengths and weaknesses. I focus on making difficult concepts easier to understand by breaking them down into simple steps before working through questions together. Once the foundations are clear, I use targeted practice and exam-style questions to build confidence and improve exam technique.
I also adapt my teaching style depending on the student. Whether you’re struggling with a particular topic, looking to improve your grade, or aiming for the highest marks, I’ll structure lessons around what will help you most. For GCSE and A-Level students, I place particular emphasis on understanding the reasoning behind methods rather than simply memorising them, so students can confidently apply what they’ve learnt to unfamiliar questions.
