About Shintaro
Hi! My name is Shintaro and I come from Japan. I am currently a 4th-year medical student at UCL.
I have a strong background in mathematics (I had completed 3 Maths A-levels before entering 6th form), and I achieved a total of 6 A*s and 1 A for my A-levels.
I have also been awarded for best performance in my department and am on the Dean's List.
One of the key characteristics that define me is that I love learning.
However, there is limited time and you can't learn everything. That's why I love experimenting and trying to find the optimal learning method. I find that I also love teaching just as much as I enjoy learning because it feels great when someone else shares the joy of learning!

I have been teaching Maths, Science and Japanese to my peers for as long as I could remember, and this has helped me refine my own learning techniques. I believe, especially for maths and languages, a problem-based learning method is optimal. By solving problems, not only will the knowledge you acquired become reinforced, but it will also prepare you for the exams.
I also have 200+ hours experience of online tutoring. If you are having difficulty with my lessons, there is absolutely no problem. We can talk through what you find challenging, and I will adapt my teaching method to fit your needs.
Finally, if anybody is interested in applying for UK medical schools, feel free to contact me for help with admission tests and interviews.
My BMAT scores were (8.3, 7.7, 4A) and my UCAT was 800.
I applied for Oxford, Imperial, UCL, and KCL and received interview invitation from all and was accepted from all except for Oxford.
