About Nasir
Hi I'm Nasir! I'm an undergrad Maths and Philosophy student hoping to share my love of maths and difficult problems with students. I have helped many students across many levels; from 11+ to A-levels. I began my tutoring journey at university and I have loved every minute of it. It has helped me keep my foundations fresh and I have loved meeting new students and helping them achieve their goals. I believe anyone can be great at maths as long as they’re dedicated, focused and have a positive attitude. I focus on a student's as individuals, I don't have a one-size-fits-all approach. As a student myself, I understand the difficulties when trying to understand concepts in Maths and Science, I use my experience to break down these challenging ideas and explain them in a way that consolidates understanding. Outside of online tutoring, I enjoy sports particularly football, tennis, and squash. I also enjoy playing poker and chess and I love learning new languages. I believe tutoring is a two-way street so you can always expect that I will go above and beyond to help you achieve your goals.

I focus my introductory lessons on finding out a student's strengths and weaknesses by asking questions from across the curriculum. During a typical lesson, I start by asking some starter questions on the topic we will be covering before tackling more challenging questions and correcting any misconceptions. I teach my lessons online with a shared whiteboard. At the end of every lesson I will set homework on the areas where there could be some improvement and reflect on what went well. I like to use Google Meet for video calls and Google Classroom for setting homework. I focus on exam strategy and technique so that students can get the grades that they deserve. I track every student's progress to make sure they're on the path to achieving their goals and to allow parents to be up to date on their progress.
