About Yan
My name is Yan Qu, and I am a Chinese language teacher. I have 3 years of experience teaching Chinese to students of all levels, from beginners to advanced. I hold a Master degree of Science from London South Bank University and Bachelor of Business from Heilongjiang University in China. I am passionate about helping students not only learn the language but also appreciate Chinese culture, history, and traditions. My teaching approach emphasises interactive learning, where students practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing in real-life contexts. I believe in creating a supportive and engaging environment to make learning enjoyable and effective. Whether you’re learning Mandarin for travel, business, or personal enrichment, I tailor my lessons to meet your specific goals and learning style.” I look forward to working with you and helping you on your journey to mastering Chinese. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out!

Tailored for personal need! Reach your personal goal for speaking, listening, reading and writing. You are not only learning the language, you are also learning the culture! I use different ways such as PPT, game-based activity, worksheet or small amount of homework (if you like to involve yourself in it) to stimulate your learning interest and intensify your daily learning for steady progress. The class involves a lot of talking and speaking to encourage student practice during the lesson. I like to give extra support if you have any questions about your learning after the lesson.
